Tried and True Homeschool Curriculum (grades 3-8)

In grades 3-8, I change things up a bit and use a more intensive, yet still eclectic, variety of curriculum. If I have a 2nd grader who is reading well, I will also use the following instead of my basic, no fluff style I blogged about here . All of these lean toward student-led rather than teacher intensive. When teaching many children at varying ages during the day, student-led is the way to go, not to mention the fact that it helps to develop leaders, initiative takers, and strong work ethic among your children. For English, I really like (and the kids LOVE) ACE English Paces. These are really well done, colorful, and everyone I know who has graduated from the ACE program, has incredible grammar skills. Hello? Is anyone out there?!

Well, I don't really know what I'm doing on here. Cari got me started all cause I wanted to post a comment on her blog. Anyway, thought I'd give it a try though I'm not always good at remembering to post. I have a list a mile long of things to do, but instead I am sitting here trying to figure out how to blog and post pictures. The kids are watching Barbie and the Nutcracker. Tried and True Homeschool Curriculum (grades K-2nd)

Well all, I officially have a high schooler this next year who has been homeschooled from the beginning. So, after many years and many kids (8 presently), I've decided to compile my list of tried and true curriculum. These are not your run of the mill curriculum nor are they the most popular or well known. I like to think outside the box and choose what works best even if no one has ever heard of it AND most importantly what works best for my children. This is going to be a series of posts starting with Kindergarten through Second Grade. So, without further ado, here's my list: (PS.
